Silver Lining for Senior Citizens

Tuesday afternoons, from 2.30pm until 4pm at Bethel Baptist Church Centre.

Silver Lining is a weekly meeting for our senior citizens and is open to all such members of the community whether or not church attendees. Our usual format is that we open in a short time of prayer, we then sing one or two hymns of members choosing, we then have a speaker to talk with us.

Our speakers come from various backgrounds and organisations and they offer talks of general interest and practical help to our seniors. People we have had in the past include the Fire Service, Age Concern and the Leprosy Mission to name a small selection.

We have the occasional meeting that is more practical or fun such as gardening features, quizzes and 'sing alongs'.

Some would say the best part of the meetings is the Tea/Coffee and biscuits that we finish the afternoon off with. A time to catch up with friends before leaving for home.

Help with transport to and from the centre is available for this meeting.
