Life at Bethel

At Bethel, we love, and value the youngest to the oldest. We love the fact that our church is so diverse, and that all have a part to play in enhancing the Kingdom of God.

Bethel Babies

Bethel Babies is our parent and baby group, which runs weekly within the church building.

Families of all different backgrounds and beliefs are welcome. From newborns through to preschoolers, we love sharing in the day-to-day life of your growing family. Offering friendship and support, from a Jesus centered mindset are the foundations of what makes our 'toddler group' so great.

Not only, do the children have a safe and welcoming environment to play in, but parents can connect with other parents, and it serves as an opportunity for families to connect with our church too. Come along and join us for some breakfast, playtime, and parenting support.

Everyone is welcome!

Childrens Ministry

Our Kids ministry ranges from 0-11 years old and is full of fun, faith building and discovering who Jesus is.

At the heart of the Children’s ministry is our Sunday morning Livewires and Wednesday evening Ablaze which is overseen by some wonderful volunteers who love working with the children.

We understand the importance of building faith in the children and giving them opportunities and space to understand who Jesus is and what he has done for them.

Youth Ministry

The Youth Ministry ages from 11-18 years old and is ran by our Youth Pastor Kyle and a wonderful group of volunteers.

Our vision at Bethel Youth is to ‘Transform community so that Jesus can be accessible for the one’ and as a team we are 100% committed to see this vision become a reality.

This is a generation rising wanted to lead, serve, and give all they can to making this world a better place and showing Jesus in their actions.

A Typical week in this ministry would include life groups, Youth Cafes, discipleship/mentoring sessions. Throughout the year there are many different potential activities planned for the year so please get in touch if you or your young person is interested it.

Life Groups

Life Groups are our network of small groups here at Bethel. We currently have 11 groups running, some in the church and some in people’s homes, over different days of the week. We aim to provide groups across all ages and the groups vary in size and format.

In each group we try to create :-

  • A Place to belong
  • A Place to encounter Jesus
  • A place to give
  • A place to grow
  • A place to reach out

Silver Liners

Silver Liners is a service and a get together for our seniors at Bethel. We value all ages here so love the fact that there is space for everyone.

The silver liners meet on a Tuesday at 1:30pm at the Church and would love to have new faces come and join them. They like to sing hymns and also have a nice cup of tea with some biscuits.

If you would like to know more then why not join them on Tuesday at 1:30pm.

Pastoral Care

The Pastoral Care Ministry at Bethel, Pontyclun, is constantly evolving with the ever-changing immediate needs of the church and local community.

Our main aim is to demonstrate God's love to our community wherever we can, as John's gospel says: “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples if you love one another.”  (John 13:34-36)

As well as looking to celebrate special occasions with our local community, we look to support those who are unwell, grieving, or looking for help and guidance as they deal with a personal situation. We have a list of local organisations to refer people to if necessary.

Predominantly, we are involved with keeping contact with those finding themselves in need, be that long term or short term, and helping them where we can. This is often a telephone call or a visit to chat and share together. We work alongside the life groups in the church who do an incredible job of supporting their group members and occasionally may need some extra support, which is where our volunteer team can help.

Worship Ministry

The worship team have found creative ways to lead us into worship over the pandemic, whether through pre-recording worship in different homes, writing new songs and leading us in church when the congregation weren’t able to sing.

Worship is integral to our faith as Christians and that’s why we love having this ministry and the people within It. If you would like to know more about this ministry, then please contact John.
